This is only one of many beautiful spots in Imsdalen. Have a look
around on my pages or better, come visit us! If you're travelling to Norway and need a guide, please feel free to contact me for more information.
Imsdalen is an excellent area for recreation. Further, in a area
teeming with wildlife, can be found most of the common predators
found elsewhere in Scandinavia, as for instance the Norwegian
fox, wolverine, lynx, wolf,
, and sometimes
even some strafing bears. A keen hobby
for many Norwegians is the annual hunt, which takes place in fall. In Imsdalen itself and the close vicinity, this annual hunt for elk, reindeer, grouse and hare also takes place. Other animals found in Imsdalen are:
deer, roe-deer, mink, marten and beaver. Our beloved national bird, "Fossekallen" (Dipper), can also be spotted, thriving, in the brooks of Imsdalen.
In "Imssjøen" you might catch trout. Normal
size between 150 to 350 grams, but bigger fish can be caught,
if conditions and the fisher are at their best. Fishing licences
are available at " Storfjellstua or in
Ringebu. If you planning on hunting in the area you will need a license from the local state office which deals with wildlife in the area: "Ringebu Fjellstyre", Address: Hanstadgata 2, 2630 RINGEBU, Norway. Phone (+047) 61 28 07 40. Line answered between 9.00 and 12.00 am.
